Celebrating Female Founders: AXIA Spirits' Women's Day 2026

The collaboration between Axia Spirit and Kakuru Jewelry is rooted in a shared philosophy: authenticity, bold expression, and the courage to create something meaningful. Both brands, each in their own way, highlight character — whether it is reflected in a handcrafted piece of jewelry or expressed through a carefully curated experience of taste and aesthetics.
At the core of Kakuru Jewelry is a founder whose journey reflects authenticity, intuition, and a deep commitment to staying true to her vision. Her story is not only about building a brand, but also about navigating doubt, challenging expectations, and redefining leadership on her own terms.
In the interview that follows, she speaks openly about the moments that shaped her, the challenges she continues to face, and the sources of inspiration that influence both her work and her identity.

1)    As a female founder, what has been a defining moment in building your brand, and what did it teach you about leadership?

A defining moment was when I felt doubt — both from myself and from those around me — and yet I chose to continue. Instead of stopping, I found an outlet in creation.

The first “no” was a lesson in assertiveness. It taught me to persist until I saw my efforts take shape . Even if the result is not always the desired one, the important thing is to remain true to myself and to what I stand for.

When it comes to leadership, what I learned is that — as in any meaningful journey — boundaries are needed. Boundaries do not limit; on the contrary, they create clarity and direction. When you follow your inner voice consistently and with respect, everything becomes clearer.

2)   What challenges have you faced as a woman building a business, and how have these experiences shaped the way you lead today?

I faced stereotypes about my age and gender, and about how “ready” some people thought I was when I first started. At the same time, balancing my personal life and my business was — and remains — a constant challenge. Boundaries can easily blur, requiring constant effort to re-establish them.

The way I lead is not static; it is shaped daily by new challenges. I try to lead with empathy, listen more, and create space for the people around me to grow. Today, I feel more resilient, but at the same time more aware that I cannot anticipate every difficulty — and that is something I am learning to accept.

3)    Two quick favourites: What’s your go-to cocktail order, and what’s your favourite place you’ve travelled to?

This year’s Roi Axia Drink — a bold combo of mastic with white chocolate, coffee and fruit, created by the beloved Yannis Miliotis. It’s a combination that perfectly reflects me: intensity, balance and character.

I don’t usually repeat trips; I like discovering new destinations and coming into contact with different cultures. However, if I can single out one significant travel experience, it was in Bangkok, Thailand, where in 2012 I stayed for a month for a jewelry seminar. The combination of the craft, the culture and the people there remains to this day a deeply personal point of reference.
